Fragmented letters

The sequence of bullfighting paintings would mark a change in Lucas’ artwork, not in its form but in the lines that emerge from the central composition of the paintings. The red geometrical shape is a work of art in its own right because the man who paints it conveys his deepest self in a secret language. A piece of his heart and his soul remains forever inscribed on the canvas… Fragmented writing is a part of the secret, in the same way as the abstract red shape. The bullfighting suite was the prelude to a new form of writing invented by Lucas. Fragmented writing is a part of the secret, akin to the abstract red shape. If I don’t provide the meaning for the geometric red shape, if I don’t provide the alphabet for the fragmented writing, they remain unintelligible like the abstract figures of Lascaux painted 20,000 years ago.
